Artistic Directors

Double based between Athens and London the collective encompasses Lola Maury and Myrto Gkouzelou’s activities. Since 2008 we perform, search, improvise, make, meet and collaborate. Sometimes together, sometimes with others.

Lola Maury

My work investigates different possibilities to stimulate and engage the senses of an audience, exploring the somatic impact that movement can produce on the spectator in a conventional theatre setting or leading the audience into active participation in installation type of works.

I graduated from London Contemporary Dance School in 2008 and obtained an MA in Performance Research and Practices at Central School of Speech and Drama in 2011. Alongside creating my own work I regularly work with Eva Recacha (Place Prize 2010 and 2012 finalist and Work Place artist) as performer and assistant director. Over the last few years I have also danced for Willi Dorner (Bodies in Urban Spaces Brighton Trail), Tina Taarpag (Recoil Company), Simonetta Alessandri, Tied by Thumbs (performing improvisation group), Vocal Motion Elastic Theatre between others.

Myrto Gkouzelou

Myrto graduated from London Contemporary Dance School to then join EDge 09, the postgraduate performance company of LCDS where she collaborated with established choreographers and teachers (Jeremy Nelson, Andreja Rauch, Ηanna Gilgren, Lauren Potter and Rosemary Lee) and toured in the U.K and Europe. She pursued her studies at the same institution and received an MA in Contemporary Dance/ Performance in 2010. Myrto has collaborated as a free-lance performer with established dance companies in Athens, where she lives at the moment, including Wrong Movement dance co., Nomass, Detour Collective, Kira Ithasimigi among others.
